Description
Laurel & Hardy as Young Men in front of the Swiftwater Covered Bridge. The boys are standing on the rocks of the Wild Ammonoosuc River exposed by a sweltering summer. The single-lane covered bridge is the fourth bridge built on that particular site (circa 1849). Each bridge, dating as far back as 1810, was washed away by a flood. This is one of the few surviving 19th-century bridges left in New Hampshire
